CHA-CHING: David Beckham Makes More Money Now Than He Ever Did When Playing Soccer
David Beckham is reeling in the cash flow. It looks like he is on the same track as Michael Jordan.
LAD Bible – According to US magazine Forbes, David Beckham made more than £50 million last year, putting him second in their list of retired athlete high earners (Michael Jordan is first). It’s more than he managed to make when he was on the pitch on a regular basis and it’s thanks in part to his associations with brands like H&M, Adidas, Sky Sports and he even helped launch a new line of whiskey.
Forbes – The deals also have significant potential thanks to Beckham’s ownership stake in the ventures. Beckham remains one of the top product pitchmen in sports, with a dozen deals to his name, including four in China. Beckham partnered with Swedish retailer H&M in 2012 for a line of bodywear.
The venture expanded with swimwear in 2014. A new line of menswear this year will expand product offerings, as well as Beckham’s take. Doing business with Brand Beckham tends to be good business for everyone involved.
