This is everyone’s worst nightmare when traveling.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A family says their Central Florida vacation was ruined by a bed bug infestation in their room at the Oak Plantation Resort in Kissimmee, and now state inspectors are investigating.

“It’s a nightmare,” Streble said. “The kids have a hard time sleeping because they keep thinking something is crawling on them.”

The family stayed at the resort from June 13 to June 19. While they were busy visiting the theme parks, they noticed bites they thought at first were mosquitoes.

But after a couple days, as more bites popped up, they pulled the sheets off the bed in their room and found bed bugs on the sheets.

“We counted 266 bites on my oldest daughter and 125 bites on my middle child. They were red and inflamed,” Streble said.
